Julia's only been gone since Friday and it feels like she's been gone forever. The house has been so quiet. Well, minus that big fart that Peyote ripped today anyway. Usually, the house is filled with the sounds of... "Hey Julia!" "What?!" "Have you seen my keys?!" "Did I just see three mexican guys speeding by in the back of a pickup truck fleeing the scene of a lingerie store looting?! What?!" "Christ." As the lone inhabitant of the household this weekend, I've sort of felt this sense of responsibility. This sort of need to protect things. I've mostly just been trying to pick up the house and clean so that we can hopefully return to a nice clean, relaxing place after our June travels conclude. Robert and I had dinner at Doughboy's and were waited on by my very favorite waitress, Ruby. She's sweet, funny and serves everything up with a side of sass. But, the bad news is that Ruby is getting evicted from her place after reporting safety violations of her landlord to the city. I guess there were some legal issues surrounding her lease that somehow allowed her landlord to have her evicted in exchange for reporting them. So, an eviction on your credit makes it awfully hard to find someone who will rent to you. Robert of course made an attempt to focus Ruby's mind on all of the things she DID have. "Do you have all your fingers?" "Yes." "All your toes?" "Yes." "Can you still achieve orgasm?" [Pause] "That I don't know. Although, I should probably check on that. It could help me forget all my other problems." So, let's all wish Ruby luck on both of her endeavors. This is for my girls all around the world... Check out the Rigged Summer Line. I am SO impressed with this. Do you think I could rock the scarf if I tried really hard?
