Calm to my Chaos

Well, Jessie's been talking about wedding plans on her blog for months and months now. (I think the LIVE, REAL-TIME countdown clock really hits it home.) I guess the quickly approaching ceremony and celebration are starting to become more top-of-mind for the rest of us. Because I now find myself being that much more receptive to all things wedding-oriented. So, I was perusing the latest issue of GQ and came across "82 Ways to Take Back the Wedding". So, I offer up the suggestions that have gained my concurrence.

7. Bachelor-party rule number one: NO MIDGETS.

28. What your relatives care about: the invitations, the ceremony, the food, AND HOW TO GET HOME.

29. What your friends care about: the music and the bar. MOSTLY THE BAR. (I could not agree more and something tells me Amber and Terri do as well.)

35. Short ceremony, LONG COCKTAIL HOUR. (Do we see a pattern here?)

36. If after the ceremony you climb into (a) a white vintage car of British extraction, (b) a crappy sedan festooned with toilet-paper streamers and beer cans, or (c) a stretch limo with the words "JUST MARRIED" anywhere on it, YOU DESERVE WHAT'S COMING TO YOU.

40. IF YOU INSIST ON HEARING "CELEBRATION," YOU MAY AS WELL HIRE KOOL & THE GANG TO SING IT.

41. DON'T PLAY "BROWN EYED GIRL"

46. NOTHING SAYS "I THINK THIS IS GOING TO BE FUN" LIKE AN OPEN BAR. (Could I drop ANYMORE hints?)

69. The garter-belt thing? IT JUST MAKES EVERYBODY FEEL KINDA CREEPY.
