After a quiet, relaxing Friday evening, I woke up well-rested to a beautiful Southern California day. The afternoon has found me in the office, but I will offer up some weekend sacrilege if nothing else: Jesus - With you always Carpet layer is my favorite. Switching gears...I was listening to the radio in the car this afternoon as "'03 Bonnie & Clyde" by Jay-Z & Beyonce cued up. Overall, I feel that the song quite sub-par considering Jay-Z's abilities, but one of the lines caught my ear today. "Whatever she lacks, I'm right over her shoulder." The feeling of security the line creates resonates warmly with me. The idea that there's someone there in your shadow, ready and waiting to catch you if you fall. There to equalize your weaknesses with their strengths. Someone who has calm, where you have chaos. Sunday, January 19, 2003
I believe the three-day weekend is doing me some good. Friday evening showed me that there's nothing wrong with getting drunk by yourself. Saturday was a nice relaxing, bumb-around kind of day. The evening included joining Alyssa, Joe & Jessica in Marina del Rey to see Tucker play a short set with sparkle*jets u.k. Lunch behind the orange curtain today in Newport Beach with Jennifer, Jan and Angie at Plum's, a stroke of culinary genius. Hopefully, a continued relaxing weekend will set me up for a fresh start on Tuesday morning. Lord knows I need it. |
